Maybe because it's bland and feels like cheap fisher price.

Touchwiz is also just as tasteless and barren as stock android itself.

Oh, I never noticed. I've gone through a range of phones from iPhones to Nexus 4 to Galaxy whatevers and Notes, and it is far and away the best phone I've ever had.

Never tried Fischer Price though.

What phone do you have?

I was debating between the s4 and the xperia z for a while. In the end I decided to go with the s4 but only because the contract comes with an additional 500mb data.

The phones for me both have their pros and cons. The s4 seems to have slightly better specs but the xperia looks beautiful, and is built strong. However, the amazing build quality comes with a small price to pay.. The display seems a little washed out and the battery is non-removable (for waterproofing reasons). Which is a real pity as the battery just doesn't seem good enough.. I recently dropped my lumia 920 and the screen shattered, so having a phone that's durable enough to withstand a drop or two is a huge feature! And only needing a screen protector for both sides of the phones beats any cover, which will just spoil it's amazing looks.

The s4 has more features but i feel that most of them are just gimmicks. The IR blaster is cool, as are the air gestures and such, but ultimately, they're not necessary. It's the newer generation processor, the better screen, and battery life that do matter.

Also, I'm not 100% sure, but a couple of guys told me that Samsung provides you with two no-questions-asked repairs on any sort of damage/flaw. That's a major game-changer.

Samsung do offer this. It may sound really cool, but the truth is that you only offer such a service if you need to offer such a service. All this tells me is that it's built poorly and prone to breaking.

Out of all the flagship phones, it really is built the worst. It's just a cheap plastic and it lacks that premium feel. Every other flagship phone, be it from Nokia, Sony, HTC, LG, Huawei, Apple, is built better than the s4. It's really the only thing letting the phone down.

Not my opinions buddy, it's independently and objectively established fact.

The fact that I have a 3310 is irrelevant.

It's very relevant if you are talking about a different phone feeling like a toy, which it doesn't, or indeed, are commenting on Touchwiz.

So I was just wondering how you come by these "facts". If by trial and error or reading some fanboi blog.

I think we have the answer now, thanks.

lol, sorry, I haven't received my S4 yet, but I have ordered it from vodacom online. I've chosen the S4 as, all things considered, I feel it's the best device. I'm saying this before you tell me i'm just a hater.

The S4 has a poor build quality and that video is laughable. They submerge it under water for 12 seconds and it's still perfect? They drop it on a rock hard surface, hundreds of times, and there isn't a scratch?.. Yet they don't market it as water resistant? Scratch resistant? Oven resistant? Shock resistant? C'mon, watch some drop tests online.

It doesn't matter what Samsung claim to do in their factory. What matters is how durable it is in the hands of the consumer.. And in the real world, one small drop and that phone will most likely shatter/crack.

Just to be clear, when I say "poor build quality" i'm referring to durability. When it comes to design, it's amazing how they've managed to keep the phone small whilst fitting everything in there (that size battery, and that size screen).. Plus polycarbonate is better in terms of signal and weight..

Again, taking this into account, I still think it's the best phone on the market atm.

Try that with any other phone. Results will be the same.

Anyway, the S4 is in a leauge on it's own. If it gets damaged, you can exchange it up to two times for a new device. No other phone comes close to that level of piece of mind.

Xperia Z seems to handle being dropped just fine.

And yes, Samsung allow you two free exchanges.. Why? Because they want to? Or because it's so fragile that you're gonna need two free changes? If it were better built, such a service wouldn't be necessary.

Each to their own.

If you actually think touchwiz is a pleasant user experience, you need to have your brain checked. It makes getting stabbed in the face with a pitchfork seem like fun.

Well, as well as a few launchers such as Nova and Go, I have tried a lot of ROMS on my S2, S3, S4 and Note, pure Android on my Nexus 4 and 7, running iOS 6.1.3 on my ipad mini, and Touchwiz just now until probably Cyanogenmod becomes beta for i9500, so I think I can be quite a decent judge of what's good or not.

But what you seem not to understand is that the look, feel and whole experience is subjective and obviously differs from one user to another. So I'm just trying to establish what your reference point is to see if your opinion carries any weight.

But hey, great that you read some random guys opinion as fact and live your life by it.

If you think camel puke in a tumble dryer is a decent look and feel, yeah I guess you have a point.
