I would wait for the Moto-X to be available. Sounds like a game changer to me.

I have quite a lot of usage on both as my wife has the S4 and I have The One.

We both agree that The One is the better phone (hardware + software + we prefer the camera on The One)

Typical woman, she should have listened and just got The One when I told her to... Well at least its better than the piece of junk Z10 that she has

Unfortunately I'm willing to sacrifice a superior phone for a superior warranty.

Technically speaking, hardware wise the S4 is slightly superior. Camera wise, low light might be better on the One, but the S4 trumps it in resolution hands down. There's no question that the One is of a far superior build quality.

just my 2 sents.
in the office where I work we have an S4, an HTC one, Lumina 920, iPhone 5, Z10 and a Xperia Z.

we also have a fish tank.
we all went up to the fish tank and took a photo with the phone right up against the glass. all in the same spot.

Camera Quality on the S4 was WAY better than anything else, with the Lumina coming in second and the iPhone third. but it was really close (other than the HTC it was even worse than the Z10)

Build Quality even the iPhone addict admitted the HTC felt the best in hand. and we all agree the Lumina is a brick you can feel the weight difference immidiately no matter what phone you had in hand before.

the S4 had been rooted and a custom Rom installed, so the Camera worked fine and has never given him issues.

with all of that information at hand what did we decide to use as company manager on duty phones? Xperia Z. because end users with company phones do not care, a little waterproofing is going to go a long way to make our life easier.

if I had to make the call? for me the S4 with the ADH warranty and insane processor speed is the phone to get.
for the other iPhone user in the office who has not upgraded yet? well I feel sorry for him, because i see him being converted to Android come November (when he is due).

after all we put the phones through the only thing we learned is that the Z10 is shockingly bad and should not be considered, any other one could be a valid choice depending on what you want your phone to do for you.

Great post

Thank you, Figured someone else out there is in the same Delema I am in.

I got my own S4 today (the camera tests were not on mine)
also another thing I found if you are waiting for the LTE s4 and you are on MTN, Don't.
the spectrum MTN uses for their LTE the GTi9500 does connect to, meaning you will be able to get the 12 or 13 mb/s that the LTE users get, and yes we tested this with speedtest app in the office, on Vodacom and MTN the other S4 was on cell C but that only lasted about 3 weeks then he bought himself out of the contract and migrated to vodacom so he could actually receive calls.

that same s4 has also been dropped, had the screen smashed, and used the first of the ADH warranty so we know it works.
The HTC one still has a cracked screen from its drop.
We are not all clutses, there is a lot of construction going on in our office.
also yes the Xperia Z is that Rugged it has not broken (front or back) and has been dropped the most.

yeah would seem that way :wtf:

I think you are underestimating the amount of construction in the office hallways being stripped and re-tiled. a ladder being in your way when it was not there a minute ago, construction workers coming around corners and bumping into you (that is what happened to the HTC and the S4)

I have owned the Galaxy S2 since release, same for the S3 and I will most certainly stick with the S4 for my upgrade in 3 months time.

Samsung wins hands down, especially providing such a comprehensive warranty for their product.
To each his own at the end of the day, but Samsung have proven themselves as well as constantly growing market share. That speaks for itself..

Enjoy the S4 Baxteen!

The Xperia Z has a cheap adhesive applied to the back panel which comes unglued over time: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2304680&page=37

Mine did, also, and the back panel is no longer flush and not waterproof, either. I still keep it around to watch videos on but it is no longer my daily driver.
