What snake is this ?

A scary one.

This thread is the worst thing ever. I have a (in my opinion) very rational fear of snakes. They are actually ****en dangerous most of the time.

Is also why I hate durban. Around any corner a ****en black mamba can fall on you.
I'm pretty sure if you don't dress like vermin, they'll probably stay away from you.

This is definitely a night adder. Very common here on the garden route. Had one on a patio at home hunting a frog yesterday. I came outside onto the patio with some gusto and almost stood on it. I shat myself, the snake shat itself and then proceeded to launch itself off the patio. It fell down about 1.5m . I heard the thud as it hit the ground. The poor frog was startled but survived

They're quick to bite but very skittish so also quick to move away. They have such a silly name since they're only active during the day.

I see the word ‘adder’ and ‘nope, nope, nope, nope…)

On a technology forum you would think of a different kind of adder:
An adder, or summer, is a digital circuit that performs addition of numbers. In many computers and other kinds of processors adders are used in the arithmetic logic units (ALUs). They are also used in other parts of the processor, where they are used to calculate addresses, table indices, increment and decrement operators and similar operations.

Was this you in Westville?

Meanwhile, in KwaZulu-Natal, a Mozambique spitting cobra was rescued from a home in Westville.

Snake catcher, Nick Evans, said the snake was found among firewood under an outside fireplace.

Went to get my meter readings this morning and found this guy waiting for me...Anyone know if its dodgy or not? Wasnt going to get much closer.

I'm sure someone will ID soon.

Don't know if already posted here, but there is a good SA Snakes Facebook group.
