Samsung Tab 2 10" is very well priced right now due to the 10.1 Note coming in. I have the P7500 and on ICS it is awesome, so the Tab 2 will work well for you (OP).

The Nexus 7 is awesome but I will never take a tablet without 3G/HSPA again. I'm sure one with 3G/HSPA will come out at some point.

Nexus 7 all the way only limitation is that its only wi-fi or micro sd card slot but I mean it a tab for R3000 on Expansys.
1. You can overcome the wifi limitation by opening a wi-fi hotspot on your Android or Apple.
2. 8gb is too little then you can go for the 16gb but I wouldn't go for the 16gb it too expensive compaired to the 8gb

Only problem is Expansys keeps changing the date at which it is expected (8gb) . Maybe they are getting problems with stock and the 16gb is only on special order

My pick :

1. Asus Transformer Infinity - Cheaper to get it on eBay with an international warranty, check with AsusZa if they will honour the warranty first, buy the dock locally off a site selling the dock for the Prime
2. Samsung 7.7" P6800 - Best 7" tablet out there, awesome screen, go hold one and see for yourself
3. Nexus 7 - Enough has been said in this thread, again import one of these and save
4. M$ Surface - Most likely a rumour at this point but it may launch for $199 as early as October

I like the Sony Tablet too for a 10". But I need 3G so will probably go with an ASUS.

The new Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is apparently terrible build quality. I would also wait for all of the other manufacturers making Windows 8 phones. Not just the surface, but the Acer, Dell and HP tabs could be worth having a look at.

That is one major thing that puts me off the Samsung 10" tablets, they just feel plasticy. I don't mind if a device has a bit of weight added as a compromise to this. I would chose the Asus tablets as an Android option.

I used to have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, but sold it and got myself the Acer Iconia A501 10.1. I changed over as the Acer came standard with a full size USB port; a micro HDMI port and a SD card slot. All these are only available on the original Galaxy Tab 10.1 through the use of adapters purchased separately.

The only downside to the tab is the lack of accessories (cover, screen guard etc), but I ordered and great cover and screen guard combo from Amazon. Includes shipping and taxes it cost me about R400.

Final bonus is that I got the official upgrade to ICS (4.0.3) from Acer about 2 weeks ago.

It's good spec'd for an entry level tablet. The A3000 is even better but that would be like twice the price.
