For people in the pretoria region. Why are the bananas so ****ing bad?, they literally reek of a strong chemical toxin, and eating them always gives me gerd and pains. Anyone else noticed this?.

I think these bastards are using calcium carbide to ripen it. A banned substance in most countries except third world crap holes like South Africa, India etc.

Forgive my anger, but stuff like this really pisses me off. Is it so hard to just eat normal unadulterated food?, seems so!. bastards gotta take shortcuts for maximum profits!

eh that's pretty weak being annecdote driven. Besides - I've heard the opposite from friends. They supply meat to one of the major SA retailers...considered supply to WW as well but dropped the idea after they realised how much extra $$$ they'd need to invest to meet their requirements. Based on that plus me feeling that their quality is generally superior I do think there is a difference. Very subjective I know.

Must admit I was flippen annoyed this morning @ WW wanting close to 20 zar for an avo. Robbery.
