What time will Ubuntu 9.04 be released?

If I remember correctly it does not partition your drive, it simply creates a massive file on your windows partition to keep files. It works well, but you take a performance hit.

yeah i got a spare drive that i recently formatted, so im busy installing it on that hard drive

hehe well the hard drive im installing it on is a PATA drive not a SATA so it would technically be a bit slower, lets hope not tho :P

My 64bit boot times are simply amazing. 16 seconds from after POST to login window :-) using HP 8710w laptop. Using ext4....

hmmm, thats strange, my ubuntu works fine, but my internet is damn slow, im downloading at like 10kb/s on a 4mb line, i should be downloading at over 400kb/s, any1 know wats wrong?

Maybe the mirror is just extremely busy. I'm downloading it using wget while SSH'd into one of the University's servers:D

downloaded it earlier from mirror.ac.za on local bandwidth, landed up with a different checksum so tried to re-download it now and noticed it was going through my international bandwidth

did a traceroute and got the following

Yep, I saw the same thing, which was puzzling. Why have a local host which has to be routed internationally to get to our ISP's? Sadly SAIX hadn't been updated with the official Jaunty release by 9pm
