My man, since I’ve been here and seen how poor the increases were last year I’ve decided to stop caring. I put in about 60% that’s it… they don’t deserve a drop more.

Nothing they can do either. They know I have them for other things like discrimination but I am keeping all my cards close to my chest for the day I need to put them down and fukk them up in one foul swoop with the labor department and the SAHRC
I am doing a similar thing.

I know the quality of my work is very high and because of so many other sub standard employees I can sort be an ass. but I'm not irreplaceable
My sideline is a hit and miss at times and not dependable but it allows me some sort of fallback.

I have been going at them for the last 3 or so years. I caught them out, paying the wrong overtime rate(R30 hr short on 1.5. Around R60 on x2). Bearing in mind I'm over the threshold but when I agreed to work overtime they agreed to pay for it. It was only fixed 2 months ago. Their tactic was to remove me off the roster and forget about it until I managed to get a huge portion of staff involved recently.

My new issue is the impossible task of getting leave than them canceling outstanding leave at the end of the year.

Besides the few other things I have for a rainy day.

This company gets just enough from me to not get me fired while my attention goes to other tasks to grow myself and income

Was told today “the best we can do is 1%”
And it was only done because they suspect I want to pack my bags and go.
Reality is I can’t find another job so I sit…

Meanwhile I see the corporate spending and trumpet blasts on Teams about how much profit was made
Yeah that's fcked up. The money is there, just not for you.

3.9% if I remember correctly.
2.3% my side, cause the year end shifted to align with Foreign companies we support, we only got a small increase cause our old year end was end of tax year like everywhere else sigh. Though the benefit is if I do get a bonus it'll be Dec/Jan not middle of the year... If, that is also if I am still here, restructuring happening.

Restructuring  Good luck!

Yeah :-(, this isn't the first time, but last time I was on the essentials list. This time though, technically I still am needed, but they keep saying they have engineers... But they don't work on my systems

You are in IT which means you just fix printers and help people log in to FaceBook, no need for an engineer for that.

Nope, sort of but not really, there is an actual IT department, I use IT equipment for other means :-)
Plus not many Linux guys in the company

Gave myself a hefty bump last year.
Nothing this year, however I am happy we managed to allocate expenses for my dad and aunt (both pensioners) into the business this year.
