10%, first increase in two years but it was also due to the fact that a senior position was vacated, they were not replaced and I took on some of their portfolio.
Seems to be happening more and more.
Yep.
Happened at my previous company as well. Covid cuts and voluntary resignations saw the company gut a layer of middle management. They were not replaced but the folks below them in frontline supervisory roles, which included me, had their job scopes expanded with minimal increases.
Trimming the salary bill through attrition.
I took a pay cut...I got a pat on the back and a maybe next year
Got the same issue. 4.5% next year 3.5 next year 2.5 than got bought out.then 6% than this year 5 %. I went on a go slow sort of when we hit 2%. Around that time started a sideline thing. Was told today “the best we can do is 1%”
And it was only done because they suspect I want to pack my bags and go.
Reality is I can’t find another job so I sit…
Meanwhile I see the corporate spending and trumpet blasts on Teams about how much profit was made
My man, since I’ve been here and seen how poor the increases were last year I’ve decided to stop caring. I put in about 60% that’s it… they don’t deserve a drop more.Got the same issue. 4.5% next year 3.5 next year 2.5 than got bought out.then 6% than this year 5 %. I went on a go slow sort of when we hit 2%. Around that time started a sideline thing.
Boss had a meeting asking what's the matter and I literally told him. I will no longer work myself to the bone for this company and there's no way I'm going back to working the way I used even if you start giving decent increases again ,the damage is done. And I'm more relaxed day to day for it.
Genuinely think it's done to boost confidence in shareholders and bump up share price.
In turn,Upper level guys get nice bonuses and their nice dividends While keeping their costs down.
There was a survey a week ago and a reminder this week to do it… both emails went to FILE #13We had a silly corporate survey a while back.
No one I know completed it.
