Too many people don't understand this. This is the most retarded question. 1% of 100,000 > 80% of 1,000.
Percentages mean nothing without a number to give it relevance...
First 6 years of my career, my lifestyle massively improved with each increase. The last 6 years of my career I've kept my lifestyle the same but my net worth has skyrocketed in comparison.I will get a sizable increase in a few months, but not planning to spend anything more than I usually do. I am good with NOT falling into the lifestyle creep trap.

Yeah but at 5% (R5,000) you're not getting poorer, and you're buying way more food than him with his R800...True but at 1% you’re technically poorer than last year while the 1000 earner can atleast buy food now with their transport

Agreed. I haven’t had an increase in 3 years. Poor me.This is the most retarded question. 1% of 100,000 > 80% of 1,000.

Whatever it is, REAL inflation will eat it up.![]()
My 5% increase will not even cover my daughter school fees jump from primary to high school.Whatever it is, inflation will eat it up.![]()
Sam boat. School fee jump from primary to high school is R1770 up to R5300. Two kids in high school from next year. My wife has had to go back to work to cover it. My increases barely cover the debit order increases if I am lucky, with medical aid increases always being the biggest one.My 5% increase will not even cover my daughter school fees jump from primary to high school.
