Hi guys

I need to create a business website for my father's friend. The website doesn't need to be really involved (as far as I can gather so far, it must just supply all necessary information)

I have some knowledge of coding (Java, C#) and I'm pretty sure I can learn HTML quickly ( I know some of it already), so which website builder do you suggest to aid me? I would really like something that allows me to see the underlying code if possible.

The domain name needs to be personalized too(eg. No .wordpress in the name)

just use wordpress (self hosted) on your own domain, along with a nice theme. It'll look good, professional and most likely be responsive too.

Agreed. Wordpress will do the trick. The only thing to remember is that you will have to update it with every new release - very easy - one click action.

These days you can even set it to update automatically.

I have seen a nice looking website created using this, in a couple of hours, by somebody that has very limited HTML knowledge:
http://www.hetzner.co.za/webhosting/sitebuilder

I do not think you can then see the underlying HTML however.

Note, you are then limited to hosting with Hetzner, but I do not really see that as a downside, since I have always had very good service from them. I think this is a nice option for simpler websites. And at R19 + R19 per month, the annual cost is what one usually pay for an hour or two of development time.
