So I bought myself a cool Wrangler some time ago and have decided to sell it again a few months back.

The dealership had some internal fraud and theft issues with some of their managers and are going through a legal dispute.

My car was affected as they have taken off the carbon fibre vinyl wrap after I dropped it off to have them sell it for me. After many discussions with them and to a point where they refused to hand out my car back to me, I eventually managed to get it back with all the equipment that came with it, so that's a relief. However, they agreed to get the car wrapped for me again but unfortunately this never happened and of course I am now being ignored by everyone.

The legal route is obviously a no go, for the cost I can have the car wrapped 5 times and I have spent enough money at this point to just get my car back.

So what would you do now?

its horrible that the best option is to cut losses and walk away, as it doesnt hold anyone accountable, but it is the option that will keep you most sane.

You agreed to have the wrap removed to sell it? Unless it was specified in writting somewhere that they would replace the wrap if it doesnt sell. I can't see that you have a claim.

Yep, this would be my guess as well. It was agreed upon that the wrap will be removed but no clause specified that it will be replaced if it doesn't sell as far as I understand, school fees it is.

I have not agreed to have the wrap removed, apparently it was a mistake they say.

It would probably the best to let it go but the feeling I get about them getting away with this just sucks.

Small claims court is a great idea, I got a 15k quote from a reputable wrapping place that would allow for this to be done. Let me think about this for a bit.

In the meantime I will have a cold beer being glad I actually got my car back.

If it was a mistake on their part, and you have that in writing from them... then small claims court to get the R15k to re-wrap the vehicle if you think you need to do that to sell it.

Damn, didn't think it was that expensive.

The Vinyl cost can drastically differ, you get 1 yr, 2 yr, 3yr, 5yr etc... logevity. Then you get pliability as well as complex construction vinyls for special effects, so really can vary alot. Then applicators vary depending on the level of their craft

I don't have it in writing, they would obviously not acknowledge and confirm the fault on their part. I do however have plenty of messages and photographic evidence of before and after. In this case common sense applies, they also don't have in writing ME ever asking them to do it, and in any case, why would they do it for me for free? It's a pain in the *** to remove a wrap, so unless they have a paid invoice that justifies their action, they have no argument to claim it was done on my instruction.

Then just initiate SCC procedures..

When they get the "summons/demand" they might just sort it out for you anyway to make the problem go away.
