For me, I refuse to give up DSTV and 2-ply toilet paper.
Internet I get at work.

I go out 2-4 time a month and go "kuiering" at a mates house for a braai or poker night 3-4 times a month. Whan i go out I spend +-R400 a night and when we are braai-ing or playing poker it comes down to R130 for a bottle of whiskey and R50 for a steak and R20 for smokes

There's nothing I wouldn't give up to make sure there was a roof over my family's head and food in their stomach.

Aye those are the most important things in life.

I don't understand people that go out to drink. What does a double brandy and coke costs? If you are lucky and it's on a special ... R20.
For R75 you can buy a whole bottle and 2 bottles of coke. That's 15 brandys and coke.
15 Brandys and coke would cost you at a pub ... R300

I would rather quit drinking than drink a R50 bottle of brandy.

Nothing wrong with Richelieu and KWV 5y/o is R80.

Brandy 10y/o and up is a no no with coke...

I have had 20y/o KWV.... Wow it tastes more like a Cognac than a brandy.... *drools*

But klipdrift / Richelieu / VO / KWV (up to 5y/o) is really nice with coke

Whiskey is NEVER to be mixed with coke!

Yeah, I spend R2000+ every month on me and my girlfriend's booze at clubs/pubs. I wish I didn't have to but she sings for a band and they have a lot of gigs. Lately I don't go to gigs that often. It's becoming too expensive. I'd rather take her out for a nice dinner for R500 than blow it on booze in a couple of hours.

The atmosphere :/

I don't go clubbing or dancing, simply to drink at Keg or Dros. Yea - you spend more than staying at home but I wouldn't get the same atmosphere at home. Even if I did, I'd spend the next day cleaning, neighbour complaints & fixing things that friends have damaged
