whats an ipad actually do?

Office 2 HD is much better than quickoffice IMO. With the keyboard doc or BT keyboard it is actually very easy to edit office files, not just read.

Who says you can't make calls with your iPad ? I make calls with my 3G iPad and whistle - to any landline or cellphone number.....and I am even allocated a USA telephone number, so people can call my iPad.

And....there's more....all calls I make to any USA number, landline or cellular in the USA are free. I only pay when I make calls to other countries. Don't believe me ? phone my iPad now, on 708-487-0041

iPad....best damn thing since sliced bread - if you make full use of it, and know what it's potential is.

No, I started writing a full explanation, but deleted it. I am not going to sit here typing for the next hour, about what it can do.
All I will say, however, is that when you buy it - don't expect magic right away, it is a device that you continually add to. It comes like an empty shell, and you have to customize it to your personal needs. Buy one, and then explore......

can u not c my signature ... by overclocking my 3gs and having my ipad on 0s 4.2 already do u really think that i .... or other users in general have no clue as to what the ipad is capable of .... lmao , u not the only 1 in SA with an ipad my dear friend

If you can look at my response, you will see that I was not responding to you. I was responding to pseudonym, who was wanting to know what the iPad could do.

I don't what to know what the iPad can do, I'm interested in this "potential" of which you speak. The things it can't do at the moment but will do in the future. I'm interested because at the moment I can't justify buying the iPad because it isn't useful enough to me but if you are deep in the Apple world and have heard of something that's coming then maybe it will sway me.

I refer to this as "potential", because right out the box it does just the basic stuff that Apple gives you.....nothing else. You need to load your iPad with the software, and in some cases connect the hardware, in order to do all this other stuff.

Like for instance - you can use the iPad as a TV monitor, and watch DSTV, TV1/2/3 etc - it get's the A/V wirelessly from a separate receiver
It can connect to your car's on-board computer, and read fault codes/diagnose problems with your car/see reports on fuel consumption etc etc
It can make free telephone calls to any cellphone or landline in the USA, and at a small cost, to any telephone anywhere in the world

Like i said earlier - the list is endless, browse the app store, read online. All this stuff is "potential" because it does not do all of this when you open the wrapper and take it out the box. You need to source the software, and in some cases, the hardware too, that connects to the iPad

Sorry, I thought you were referring to things I can't do with my dual-booting laptop...
