whats an ipad actually do?

In my opinion anyone buying an iPad for personal use, movies, music, games, etc will become bored with it pretty soon and it will become an expensive paperweight. For business use, on the other hand, it is a brilliant tool. For an executive or anyone doing a lot of travelling, email, internet, calendar, news & financial apps, etc, it is deffinitely worth getting. Many of the executives at my work have given up their laptops for iPads and they are loving it.

The fact that iPad can't run Office sort of disqualifies it for me. Unfortunately that's how the world works nowadays.

How about the apps designed for Office docs - like Docs to Go and Quickoffice??

Apple iWork for iPad is fully compatible with MS Office. Sure, it's doesn't give you full MS Office functionality, but you have to compromise somewhere with devices that small and no keyboard & mouse...

still on the fence regarding an ipad - would like it to have usb, which I gather might be on ipad 2?

and pricing seems to be erractic at the moment.
