I didn't see you mention peanut oil anywhere.

Stir Fry has to have peanut oil!!!!

And a sprinkling of toasted sesame seeds afterwards.
 
Which version?
I used a hand blender as I don't have a ricer. I believe russets are a very glutinous potato which would account for the glueyness because I couldn't detect anything wrong with the texture using standard pnp tatties.

I prefer sesame oil to peanut. I go weak at the knees when I smell sesame oil cooking. It's one of the nicest aromas on earth.

Also the secret to getting restaurant level softness with the beef in a stir fry is to buy a good quality fillet and cut it as thinly as the grain will allow. Then marinate for at least an hour in a mixture that includes soy honey rice wine vinegar ginger garlic and chillies, then cook it first on a very high heat, remove it and add it back in at the end.

Was sitting business class on tuesday and food was good

Some salad
Spinach and feta ravioli
And a lemon tart

Finally got an iPhone. I can't take these useless washed out pics of my food. I'm not trying to start a blog or anything I just want a decent representation of what I've made. That pic looks like dogfood but it was actually a really nice meal and the mushrooms had the most beautiful browning and texture.
 
Fish looks like nice though.

I've got me some business class action all the way to London tonight. Usually very nice food in our much maligned national carrier. Fingers crossed.

im sure you get fed a schit load more cause on local JHB-CPT they feed you non-stop
