Should be grey or red.
When using charcoal you should start feeling for the right heat to add you meat once the coals have gone white. While they are black they are still getting hotter. Coals are only red in the dark![]()
i never wait till the coals go full grey
as soon as the heat is good i put meat on ..easier to braai on a controlled heat then a very hot fire where you turning like a mad person
but that's just it, you feel and the fire feels fine, you put your meat on, and the fire get's hotter! anyway... to each their own....
just go braai fanie ..go spoil yourself![]()
