When using charcoal you should start feeling for the right heat to add you meat once the coals have gone white. While they are black they are still getting hotter. Coals are only red in the dark :D

i never wait till the coals go full grey

as soon as the heat is good i put meat on ..easier to braai on a controlled heat then a very hot fire where you turning like a mad person

but that's just it, you feel and the fire feels fine, you put your meat on, and the fire get's hotter! anyway... to each their own....
 
Should i be capable i shal show u guys something awesome that takes a fillet of cow and a bed of rock salt.....
 
Had a braai. Boerewors and Kassler chops. And some sous for dipping.

Not really feeling like going to work this morning...

Power went so we got lasagne from spar. Then it went back on so I made a rustic pear pie to have later.
