looks very good maumau

did you make raita with yogurt

I have never ever seen or had breyani with yogurt. Should try it lol

we normally use sourmilk or buttermilk . with salt and pepper and dhania grinded with some chilli as well

Yes it was made with yogurt.

Fried jeera and mustard seeds to release the oils, mixed them in and added dhania. Some restaurants serve it in sourmilk/buttermilk but yogurt is tasty.

Odd that they dont have a similar Cold Meats counter at your local Spar or Checkers...

PnP is just rubbish though, so wouldn't expect it from them.
Checkers has some but it's prepackaged and almost wafer thin. :o

Check in delis and butcheries.
Yeah, I should. We don't usually plan on having carbonara for supper, it just happens.

Same here really, but then I cheat and just use bacon....

faniebraai Sir you are an uncultured HEATHEN! Begone!

Pancetta is basically unsmoked bacon. If you wanna be 100% authentic then obviously pancetta is the way to go, but I'd rather use good bacon for a carbonara then crappy pancetta.
