Twas indeed. Not powder though. Misses wasn't too happy after I made her cough and cry with the peri peri last weekend.

We had quite the weekend with trying to make some "new" dishes

My SO made a quite a decent snack platter on Thursday after we felt a little "snackish". It was fantastic

On Friday, after a bunch of drinks, we decided to make a midnight snack with fat cakes and "riblet patties" with some air fryer chips

Saturday I fried up some garlic snails and mushrooms before adding some biltong soup. Finished that dish up with a home made garlic bread. Dracula wouldn't be able to touch the neighborhood with all the garlic I used

Any suggestions for a children's birthday party lunch? (more adults than children) Roughly 15 ppl

Looking for something that can be pre-prepped as much as possible.

We have done the following many times, and looking for something different:

1) Potjie
2) Braai
3) Build-a-Burger
4) Curry
5) Spit-Braai
6) Gourmet Soup and home-made bread
7) Boerie Rolls

What about a Mexican theme?
Might be pricy though.

Tacos
Nachos
Quesadillas
Burritos
Enchaladas

All of those can be served with a simple salad or fresh salsa and guacamole.

We did a big fondue for a birthday a few years back.

Instead of fondue pots I used the cast iron pots on gas burners, worked really well and everyone had a great time.

Or, quickly build a pizza oven and have pizza day, that also works well.

Used to do a lot of these. Really great and all the prepwork is done in advance

I like this one - sort of like a stir-fry

Correct. A Stir fry. A friend of me had a MF pan, 4 people on one side, 4 on the other side.
A have a big cast-iron flat-plate pan, but It's not a MF - will try it out over the weekend and see if it can accommodate just a few people

Got a SS plate for my 40th a couple of years ago. Think i should also give it a go as a stir fry pan. Just need gas burners and a frame to rest it on.
Idea is it's a kuier braai. (MY English just broke).
