Isn't that what builders use to smooth out cement? If so, you are in the wrong place

Hehe. No it is not a trowel.

It is a steak weight. Also known as a bacon press.

Want to use it specifically when cooking things like pork chops in the pan. Always lifts up somewhere as the fat shrinks and then you do not get even caramelisation.

Decided I have 5mm thick x 100mm wide flat bar in the workshop. Will use two pieces welded on top of each other, Fit a handle and then wrap with foil when I use it.

Make cuts in the fat going toward the meat but not too deep.

First time Sous Vide in a slow cooker.

Came out a little too Medium but for a first try I'm quite happy.

Should get it spot on next time.

Still tasted amazing and super soft.
 
Lol. It had a whole lot of pinotage mushroom sauce.

Just doesn't look as good on photos.

For my cheat day, went to Salsa in Pineslopes. Had the chicken burrito and sweet potato chips. Was very good, but not that filling.
