Been without electricity since 4AM so had to get out the Carri Chef to make some army food.

Cubes of ham, mushrooms, caramelised onions and eggs.

Just grated some cheese over the top after dishing up.

Broiled lamb and peppers in yogurt on polenta. It was meant to go on basmati rice but last minute i realised we had none so improvised. Very tasty, polenta was a bit loose for the yogurt so it all sort of mingled.

What are the leaves?

I need to try this polenta thing some time. I've only ever had it in restaurants.

I figured it was some strange variety of mint so glad I'm not too far off.

Out of the garden or bought?

Chicken Cheese Burgers. Made with Keto Oopsie Rolls.

Wife's - She doesn't like gherkins and wanted chutney at the bottom.

Mine - I don't like tomato and wanted hot sauce at the bottom.

The oopsie buns fresh out of the oven. And I actually made them with cottage cheese this time. Wife chowed the last cream cheese and biltong for a midnight snack.

Mother-in-law curried mince on shredded cabbage. Amazed that leftovers didn't burn a hole through the plastic container.

:D

It should be. But was totally worth it. Been longing for such a hot curry mince for such a long time. Wife had salad and chicken tonight. She wouldn't even smell it.

How do you spice your mince up? I'm struggling to find chili powder, and one would think even pick 'n pay would stock that.

Tonight I used smoked paprika, cumin, hot curry powder and dried chilli flakes. Also freshly chopped onions and garlic.

I buy all my spices from some Durban looking guys at the Boeremark. Every Saturday from 5h00 - 9h00 at Pioneers Museum in Silverton. They have a crazy variety and super cheap.

Missing ginger.
