Yeah obviously the South African mielies are quite different and probably the process too.@sauronza I'm not sure that mielie pap is the same as American corn meal in texture. I use masa harina flour to make cornbread and tortillas etc and it's much finer than mielie.

No, masa harina tastes very strongly like Mexican food. The polenta I use is the Health Connection brand.Is that what you make polenta within as well?
