Some help for an Indian noob please?

Parents are over and really want to try out some indian food.

What is the diff between Vindaloo or palak or ghost or korma or rogan josh.

We like spicy food but not so hot that it scorches tastebuds. Will probably opt for chicken or lamb.

Will probably get from the Tranna close to our house.

Thanks in advance.

If you want a bit spicy you can't go wrong with a rogan josh. I made this recipe before and it was delicious, just toned down the number of chilies for my guests:

Ended up having some chicken korma and also some of the wife's tikka masala.

Heavenly.

Polished those bowls with the garlic naan.

Definitely going to try my own versions at home soon.

What was surprising to me was the sweetness of both dishes.

You get this sweet taste first and then a moment or so later the spiciness comes through.

These guys understand spices and flavours alright.

We moved to the middle east at the start of the year, and one of the things I am really loving is the Indian and Pakistani food. Just incredible flavours and really reasonably priced.

We make the below very often, super simple.

And that paired with some home made naan.

There's two options on the naan, one that's fermented and one that's with baking powder. I prefer the fermented one but they are both nice.

What vegan nonsense is that?

Don’t worry I skipped the vegan crap.

Just used an egg instead of the silly almond milk nonsense.

Would like to say it needs meat but then it would have been too filling. Would need to reduce the whole thing.

Great success and quite simple.

But WAY too much. We had 3 between two people and that was too much.

Still 3 left.

In future I will mix the rice and salsa together beforehand and maybe make it more spicy if my daughter wasn’t eating the same meal.

Could be saucier as well but I fear then the tortilla might before pap.

Henceforth I will refer to it as the Mutant Mexican Samosa.
