Any ideas for sunday night ?
Steers
Aaah okay.
Bought them anyway. Can see how not using a perfectly flat pan would be a problem.
I see one is a bit bent but should be able to flex it back.
Surely considering how basic the concept of sous vide is this should do the job 99% as well as the R4000 Severin?

Actually thinking of getting one of these from Checkers. I think the rings would work well on this.

Give them a try and let me know. I found them too light. They basically float on the butter and thus seep.Yeah I can only see the rings leaking if not using a flat pan and not using enough oil.
Or not using a pan hit enough in the first place.

Often on a Sunday night if I'm not feeling like cooking we will either get a rotisserie chicken from Woolies with a ciabatta loaf, or I'll fry up some pot stickers from frozen that I get from the local Chinese supermarket, and make a simple dipping sauce to go with it. Tonight we did the steamed dumplings and pot stickers. So delicious, I can have 20 of those no problem.
Depends on how accurate it is.Surely considering how basic the concept of sous vide is this should do the job 99% as well as the R4000 Severin?

Depends on how accurate it is.
Yeah I realise but at the price I could live with a minor variance.
@Faniebraai definitely the fact that the one is bent slightly.
Can actually see the metal overlap on the join which is causing *** with one.
Deeper problem is that I can't steam with these as I can't put lid on.
Nice. What do you fry them in?
That looks nasty but I'll bet it tasted great.Excuse the crappy pic.
Pan fried thighs and drumsticks with a garlic and pepper pan sauce. Steamed broccoli as side.
