no naan shouldnt be dry like eating cardboard

should be soft and buttery if you know what i mean

Yup they weren’t dry in that sense.

Was pretty much on par with the legit made by Indians versions I’ve had, just a bit too thick and of course not made in a tandoor oven.

The shape is not correct either, it should be a teardrop. But it looks like you got a good rise and nice charring. This place has the best naans I've tasted.

I have never had a tear drop shaped naan in my life.

Not even in Sri Lanka.

But yes it should have been rolled wider but considering I used a bottle of wine instead of a rolling pin I figured it was thin enough.

Next time I’ll buy a proper roller and do better.

I actually found Bukhara quite underwhelming. But then I’ve been to Sri Lanka which is almost India.

and yeah bukhara has the best naan for me as well

but at like R40 a naan furking madness

actually went to bukhara last weekend ...food wasnt as good as before though but that naan was devine

they also have papadums with a mint sauce ...heavenly

that tandoor oven makes the biggest difference ever

Yup.

But I’m not quite ready to buy one just for that.

But might try the regular oven instead of the pan next time. Just seems like a waste of power.

My 3 1/2 old loved naan before and now loves it even more because it’s like play dough in her mind that becomes food.

That shape would be explained if you were throwing it onto the tandoor wall and it stretched in the process.

Or pulling it off even.

Definitely not rolled like that which would explain why in the pan it would look like that.

Yeah.

I usually buy the prepared ones from Checkers and always used the pan with success so just stuck to it.

i never tried them as i live in athlone where im surrounded by fresh naan places

one charges R5 for a garlic naan and its so damn good

rogni naan which is the one with sesame seeds goes for around R8

Get in your car and drive to my part of the world for the best Indian food (and naan) in the western cape.
