EDIT:

Tobaso sauce has lost much of it's kick. I drenched my eggs in the stuff and not a spicy sensation whatsoever.

Gotta be careful. The alcohol might have dulled your taste buds :D

What alcohol?

The gin & tonic??

That's not alcohol. My claims of drunkenness are very much exaggerated.

Gin & tonic isn't something you can get drunk on.

Haha! Good luck with the tummy.

For some reason I'm craving pizza again.

Intriguing - how do you make mongolian beef?

Basically dip the thinly cut beef strips in corn starch and fry til brown and set aside. To make the sauce its a mixture of soya sauce, ginger and garlic, sugar. I'll type it up a bit later I dont keep recipes written down I just make them.

I can see a nice looking recipe here that is probably what he's used:

Looks very easy. I'm tempted to do this tonight.

That recipe is almost exactly the same I would say it should taste the same as well. I usually use some dry chilli flakes and also i thicken the sauce by adding a level teaspoon of cornstarch to a half a cup of cold water and then mix in with the soy sauce. If u dont add the corn starch the sauce will be runny in my opinion but you could probably reduce it down to a better consistency its just easier with the corn starch. At the last ten minutes of cooking time add in some onions cut in half and sliced at an angle. At the last two minutes add in some frozen peas which have been steam cooked in the microwave. The fried rice is dead easy just grate up some carrot and stir fry in a tablespoon of oil and I add in a small pinch of ginger and garlic which I've chopped up for the steak at the beginning. Then beat an egg with a tablespoon of milk and drop into the pan or wok whicheva you are using and stir vigorously for a few seconds until it curdles into fine pieces. Add in cold cooked basmati rice and heat through.

I reckon supper tonight will entail a lovely piece of steak, some chips and an egg, with lashings of a nice peri peri sauce...

Why is salami so damn tasty. Once I start with a slice, it becomes 2 and then three and before I know it, everything is gone. I bought about R40 of salami slices for sandwiches tonight, but I'm running the risk of having eaten all of it before I've even touched the loaf of bread.
