Explain ? :)

I had a wholewheat seeded breadroll with cheese, tomato, onion and lettuce, plus peanut butter straight from the jar (my indulgence!) and a peach for dessert.

Sautê onions in a little olive oil.
Add mince, salt lightly and brown.
Add Skopskiet en Donner Masala (http://www.lallas.co.za/) and some cumin and turmeric and some fresh ginger.
Add 3 fresh tomatoes, some chutney and half a teaspoon of sugar
Tonight I added some chopped carrots and peas (pre-cooked in microwave oven).

Added some turmeric to the rice as well as a handful of seedless raisins.

Total time = 25 minutes

Fresh ginger is there... I use either garlic or chutney. Looked for the fresh garlic but it was hiding away from me!

This is what I taught myself to make over 30 years ago when I moved out and lived on my own. Trial and error and no recipe books in those days!! Sometimes I add some red kidney beans or baked beans i.s.o. the veggies.

I'm lucky that my kids love hot food; not so much my wife though...

For a long time, PnP sold these houses of garlic with the tiniest little cloves ... you had to crush about 10 of them to get maybe one spoonful of garlic ... but their current supply of garlic at my local store is lovely - big fat cloves!

Adding red kidney beans is yummy and very healthy too AFAIK.

It is also very tasty if you add some chopped potatoes in there and let it simmer with the mince until soft ... the turmeric gives the potatoes a beautiful yellow colour.

My wife does not like me to add potatoes if I'm making rice ... I'm old school "rys, aartappels en vleis" but apparently that is not "good" for you. Jaaaaaa...
