i see it wasnt on direct heat ..so more like an oven and then do you put it on the direct heat after ?

It was just for the fiancee and I, with wings left over.

The kettle acts as an oven so cooking is done at a lower temperature to retain moistness, but with the added bonus of smoky goodness. I used applewood chips (all I have at the moment).

Sauced and put on the flames to crisp up.

Well, 10 full wings would equate to 20 of those pieces, 8 flats and 8 drumettes. I had around 8 or 9 full wings myself, the fiancee less. There's still some in the fridge :)

i dont have a weber cause of where i stay but i have this small braai ...think i need to try it with this recipe of yours

what rub did you use ?

No idea if it'll work. You'd be grilling them, not smoking. Why can't you have a Weber? Size?

what rub did you use ?

It's a rub I use on my ribs, was too lazy to make a different one.

Has some sugar, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, thyme, ginger powder.. It's mostly this rub from AmazingRibs:

Ingredients
3/4 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
1/2 cup paprika
1/4 cup garlic powder
2 tablespoons ground black pepper
2 tablespoons ground ginger powder
2 tablespoons onion powder
2 teaspoons rosemary powder

I don't use a lot of sugar though.

i need to get some of that wood you used as well

so much food so little time ...#foodloverproblems

Problem with those is that there's so little space for the food and for the heat to distribute properly. You can get the wood on Takealot, I've just ordered some Hickory..

You can actually turn that into an awesome little smoker using a certain type of pot and some drilling.
