I can hardly browse local sites, I can't even attempt international sites.

And I'm still far from being capped?? [xx(]

Anyone else have this? Cant do a speed test, it sorta times out...

maybe everybody's raping the local bandwidth on the last day of being capped

Been gettings problems too. Except that it has been happening to me since Sunday night. [V]

I still have a few hundred megs left of my allocated bandwidth (thanks to my 5 day Woodstock fest). The local speeds seem to be okay now, but the international is really bad (getting 4-6kbps when I usually get 55.2 kbps).

Typical [xx(]

I've also been getting hectic problems trying to access my e-mail. The majority of the time it timesout. This is a local friggin' server, so there shouldn't be an excuse! [:(!]

I'm also.. and I'm not even close to be capped!

My second account is still fresh.. [:(!]

I don't know whether Telkom has to explain the situation/problems to their customers or not.

Hi guys

If this is the speed we can expect at the end of the month after many users have been capped I think we are in for a bumpy ride in October. I wonder whether Telkom reduces the un-throttled bandwidth according to the amount of users that are not capped? These last two days makes me believe that this might be the case…

My honest opinion is that Telkom have given up on ADSL and are letting it run till it dies. The past few days have been terrible, standard dial up is faster for both local and international - is this product really worth it??!? I though so at first, but now I'm second guessing it. I could understand it if I were capped, but for goodness sake - I've been restrictive with my bandwidth and this is the service I get...........[:(!]

This is the beauty of Telkom, they are Gods within our world. They dont have to explain anything to you at all due to the fact that they did not guarantee you anything. Whether you have a million fresh accounts or you are already capped they dont care, they dont even know how to spell the word good or service. I wish for their death each and everyday but the time will come when they shall fall down.... or will it?[8]

Fantasy is what people want, reality is what they need.

Just to add my voice...

Local bandwidth is crap today - international bandwidth...well, what is that??

Hi Diplos

I can agree fully. I just posted my speed in another forum, and am struggling to open international sites. This is not on…

Hi there all
new to the forum.
I have had ADSL since last year August when it was first
released in SA.
The first two months Sucked big days and and after that it was fine
I really was enjoying the speed. It has just got progresively worse over time.

Now I am so Unhappy with this ADSL, it's a joke.
Since Friday the International bandwidth has gone for crap and yesterday and today can hardly browse the Internet let alone download.
I still have 300 megs of bandwidth left so I have not been capped.
(like it makes a diff capped or not browsing)
Maybe Telskum has implemented the National cap..... like it was discussed in the Other thread.

Why o Why can't they not provide a decent SERVICE.
We pay for it Damit.[:(!]

One very Unhappy ADSL/(seems like I am a dial up customer)[V]

Kudus to Telskum for the great ADSL Service we get![V][V]

If Sex is a pain in the Arse you doing it WRONG!

WOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!
Just ran the Speed test on the websites link.

4.9KB/s
Thankyou Telkom for the great ADSL Access we got[}:)][}:)][}:)]

I have been running as if capped since Sunday but am 800Mb short of my cap. I phoned 0800375375 to be told to test my speed at www.telkom.co.za/dsl - guess what - that speed test tells me eveything is hunky dory - the speed test on myadsl confirms what I already know - its NOT hunky dory.
I plot my speed 3 times a day every day - mornings start out at about 300Kbits dropping to 70Kbits by lunchtime and then lower to 50Kbits by 5 p.m.(except since Sunday - 50Kbits is fast drops to 11Kbits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Hi BryanMayhew

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. My current speeds are terrible. I am not capped but struggle to open international sites. As we know their speed test does not say anything about international speeds, and is only of value to test your line quality.

I think it might be time for some serious action!

Even my local speeds are doing terribly today. - im getting pings of over 200 normally i get pings below 30!!!

I have also experienced a significant speed decrease since the week end
If you do a route trace to a US site you will note that Telkom seem to be switching to a new carrier "Broadwing" in the US.
I can't quite remember who the previous US carrier was (i think it was sbc), but certainly the use of Broadwing seems to coincide with the terrible responses
