:mad:I have a 10 meg line which is acting very strange today. Normall a can download at +1000 but the best so far is 220. Anyone else having problems? I sent a PM to afriman but no reply.

Symptoms make it look like insufficient IPC. They deny this - but who knows what's happening with their shapers?

So where to now. Generally people have been migrating from uncapped because of the shaping etc, and now capped accounts are gone to ****

But, but, Afrihost capped is never shaped, it's only "optimized"...

I sincerely hope its only their "optimization" rules that went belly up and the expert that need to fix it is on leave. PS, it is also likely from experience that they are in denial (not the river in north Africa) about the problem and that we must first do their troubleshooting and proof to them that their is a problem, this really piss me off. It's like doing the mechanics work for him.

They don't have to fix anything.

Too many people just keep paying their monthly sub regardless of the issues experienced.

Mine was up and down for last 7 days. Not great at all.

I'm even looking at Telkom's offerings as an alternative :(

That's definitely not cool at all!

Are you seeing any other increases in latency? What sort of results are you getting on your Speedtests?

:(

What do you suggest?

Afrihost has always been good to me. So I haven't had to consider the competition.

:(

How are your speedtests looking at the moment? Are you consistently getting lower than normal speeds?

I'll check when I'm back home.

It's been more a problem of the line dropping completely over the last week or so. Intermittent access is as bad as no access at all :(
