You should see some video's of God of War on PS3 scaled to 4k.

The graphic quality is insane.

The cool thing is creating direct launch icons on the home screen to the games you play the most (instead of running an emu and loading a rom).
My top two are Mame ROMS (Kiki KaiKai and Black Tiger / Black Dragon)...

Lol I am rocking my PSP and you guys with your fancy switches :D,
However emulators feel right at home on the PSP.
NES, SuperNES, Sega, PS1, dosbox is a bit of a hit and a miss, and most games for dosbox is already on one of the other emulators.

Fav games however is

Original Sonic Sega emulator
PS1 Resident evil
SMB 3 Nes/Snes
Track and field Nes/SNES
Alex kidd on Sega emulator
PS1 Crash Bandicoot

I have an android tablet and a android box, just need to get my hands on a bluethooth controller, it is the reason I have the PSP, much easier and simpler unfortunately it is the street version so lacks the TV out.None the less extremely happy with the PSP as a mini little gaming console for emulators, especially when the power goes out.

Well with PSP being pretty much abandoned ware you can get pretty much any game you want, FPS and 3rd person game aren't that great.The homebrew for PSP is pretty great, getting about 6 hours battery life, only downside with NES games is you don't have a turbo button, I haven't tried mame emulator, I know with the PC mame emulator you have a couple of hacks you can use, which is handy for shooters and games like track and field where you really need a turbo button.

While I have a few psp games homebrew and emulators are way more fun and more suited to the controller. The only exceptions are capcom and Sega PSP ports.It is pretty epic playing street fighter and mortal kombat on PSP. tekken is also pretty decent port on PSP, Sega genesis mortal kombat is better then the actual mortal kombat developed for PSP.Less keys and less combo's to remember but equally hard.

What emulators does it have ?. I assume as with PSP homebrew requires a hack or custom firmware.
Running PSP with firmware C-Pro 6.60 firmware hack, but basically loads into the memory even when in standby mode.Only have to load the hack again when you restart the device which takes all of 2 minutes.

Basically allows emulation, PSP iso and CSO games to be played without needing to load an additional program ect.
While the PSP screen may be smaller and graphics aren't as great as the switch, but the amount of games avaible is staggering considering the old PSP is pretty much abandoned ware.

If you guys need a resource for emulation and ROMs, I have a no BS website with every possible emulation and ROM you can imagine its on the first page of google results, obviously I am not going to endorse or approve illegal activities on here. Just use search term PSP ROMs download, pending on you region setting will be 3rd result.

Well that one is just a dedicated controller for the RAZR phone. Pretty decent one at that. Amazing that the phone is capable of that level of emulation.

For the switch Xbox emulator, the only hassle is it will need to run on its own dedicated SD card. Looks like it runs off Linux. Noice. Would make a pretty sweet TV connected multimedia PC.

It’s not emulating in the video, it’s running XCloud. Any compatible phone could do that but the controller grip is really cool

I'm intrigued by the idea of picking up an old PSP for cheap and running homebrew and emulators. Just one question though, what's your battery life like? I remember my friend got an original PSP and the battery was terrible. Of course, that was gen 1, so I assume it improved, but that screen was power hungry.

Yeah they improved the screen and battery as well. I have the street version. You will find them, at cash convertors and else where no issues, problem is their asking prices is some thing stupid. Getting one privately is a mission.It took nearly a year to find one.I got one here on the forum, with luck thanks to @Nobody Important.

Didn't even need to replace battery as it was in perfect working order, easily get 5-6 hours from it.

Asking price is a bit much, but the refurbished PSP's usually have new batteries and housings, so worth it, as else where you might need to get some spares.

The alternative is some thing like this, but honestly I wanted to get a PSP, as you have native support for PSP iso and cso's and is readily available to download no issues, Have downloaded about 40-50 odd PSP games, and have a library of over 4500 NES games, 200 odd sega, and a few SNES games, and a bucket load of PS1 games. I want to try my hand at DS games next as that is about the max it will support, sadly no gamecube or dreamcast support.

Knock off PSP's really isn't that great there are some gems here and there, but PSP is really much, much better.

I didn't even consider the vita as it way overpriced secondhand and the old PSP considering the amount of games and emulation available is way cheaper, while dated is still epic.

What's the latest gen it can emulate? SNES? PSX? N64?
 
On a related note what would be some good family friendly couch co-op titles from days gone by to run on an emulator?

I struggle a bit with the very old stuff, so the newer platforms preferred.

I am stuck with bubble bobble on around level 60+ which requires two player to complete.

There is also fun games like track and field, ice climber, balloon fight, Tetris, pinball, pool.Double dribble, baseball, golf and soccer.

SMB 3 is likely the best of both worlds with regards to two player games.If you haven't played SMB3 you have not lived at all.It is the best nes game ever created.To say otherwise you will be burned at the stake.

I'm using RetroArch for emulation on my PC currently, but keen to try Batocera on my Android media box (Minix Neo U1). I like the fact that you can install Batocera on a SD card/flashdrive and run it with your ROM collection from there. When you remove the SD card the decive just boots up normally again (no formatting/re-installation of OS required).

BTW this guy (ETA Prime) covers basically all emulators on all possible devices. Worth a look for those trying to setup something on an old PC, phone, raspberry pie or media box.
