What's up with Digital Addiction?

Spoke to my brother again yesterday evening. I sent him another number on the website that was not yet disconnected. He's been phoning that number as well but no answer. It my be time to start warning people against buying from digitaladdiction.co.za
 
That's rather disappointing... Etai had Digital Addiction running super smooth. He was always around to respond to queries. New owners are ruining the good name :(

My brother has just informed me the credit card charges were successfully reversed by the bank yesterday afternoon. He won't be attempting to make any further contact with Digital Addiction. I think Conradl was given a reasonable amount of time to respond and he was also notified about this thread via PM. I think it's fair now to warn people against making use of Digital Addiction.

Yeah that is just not acceptable. I am glad he managed to get the charges reversed though.
 
Thats a pity, eitai2001 was doing a good job - I bought my first LCD TV from him :)
 
Not good, I agree. At least the charges were reversed. You can't help wonder about these other places that only accept EFT's, no way of reversing that, makes one a little nervous of some of these online places.
 
This is a real shame - Etai made a great brand name out of DA and it won and award or two as well.

I remember Conradl posting here sometime ago - another forumite had an issue and there was no response - and Conradl mentioned about having personal issues, but at the time sorted the oke out.

This is worrying though.

Bloody poor show from him if he couldn't even bother to reply to this thread. I do hope people are warned about not buying from them, things could turn very ugly.
 
You a tad paranoid if you think one dude having issues is going to affect online shopping.

He is not the first and wont be the last online store to close down and yet online shopping is booming.

Anyhow Etai had worked hard to establish a rep, it would be a pity if it goes under:(

It does however leave a sour taste in the mouth of a first-time online hardware buyer (which was my brother's case). He's now very reluctant to try and buy hardware online again and that's a real pity.
 
arggh, he will get over it, with online shopping lots of goodies and discounts you cant find in stores.

just hope his second time isnt with wantitall, they the only local store I've had to reverse charges with:mad:
 
I've had quite good experiences with Kalahari, Take2 and Prophecy so far. Sybaritic is OK, but their delivery times can be delayed quite often - at least they inform you about it.
 
The sad thing is actually:

There's NO barriers to entry in the online PC hardware resale industry.

Conradl should have opened his own site, instead of buying what he thought was brand-loyalty.
The sad thing here is that brand-loyalty in the PC Hardware industry is NOT held by the shop, but by the brands it sells.

When Etai first wanted to sell his business, I told him that he will be ripping off the person who buys it.
I still think he's done that, seeing that he wanted something like R2m for the shop initially.

Sad to see something like this happen, really.
 
Something wrong must have happened if really DA is having problems. I mean Conrad couldn't just throw his R2m away just like that really?
