Harsh topic, but not that harsh, more pricesly it should have neen Whats wrong with South Africans???

I'm puzzled about white South Africans, more especially the younger generations(1980~~), they seem to be out of touch with South Africa, they are quick to critisize the Goverment and all its initiatives. and hardly defend South Africa.

As a Black Man, and citizen of South Africa
I'm sick of crime, more needs to be done.

I'm tired of all the ques that I have to go trough at all goverment institutions...

I'm sick with lack of accountability by the goverment officials...

I'm sick with redtapes of business finance

But despite all this, I have high hopes for the future of South Africa...
I cannot wait for the day when I have my first car and house

BACK TO THE TOPIC...
A lot of whites do not know much about South African politics. I have two white friends whom emigrated from Ireland and England in 1994 to reside in South Africa, and their knowledge of South African politics is above average, it even lead to me questioning my patriotism. I was having a chat with one of them and my white collegue, and we soon drifted to politics and you can see that collegue was lost and uncomfortable...Whats up with that???

Both of my friends can make up sentences in native South Africa lunguages, and only have 14 years in the country, whereas white South Africans have been in the country for generations, yet the majority cannot speak native lunguages....Whats up with that???

Take note fo all the goverment related threats in this forum...Whats up with all the negativity???

NB!
I hate the usage of white and black to describe human beings, I don't feel comfortable using either words, and I apologise for any grivience that I might have caused

South Africa belongs to all who leave in it, and I believe that one day we will coexist happily and discard the skin colur classification.

Fine.

Alot of caucasians in South Africa DO speak native languages, myself included (Afrikaans), I hate politics because it's only the corrupt who "specialise" in it (generalisation - I know).

We all have a right to critisize our Government, indeed democracy relies on it..

South Africa will, for a VERY long time, have lines drawn on ethnicity and race...

I can see you don't complain much, BEE/AA does benefit you....

When the governmint is wrong we point it out.
When the governmint is right, we kinda sometimes point that out too.

I suck at learning new languages, I suck at it so badly that it's pointless even trying to learn another. Much like I suck at learning history.

Governmint related threats in this forum? Hu?

Criticising a government that is clearly useless and shows no sign of turning things around with only self gain in mind, IS NOT RACIST.
There's many governments that get criticised; take the UK for example, so should we now call them racists?

Harsh topic, but not that harsh, more pricesly it should have neen Whats wrong with South Africans???

How much time would you afford the government to at least start tackling this problem? Set some standards for yourself and decide what you would consider adequate progress, and see if they meet this. Instead they protect the likes of Selebi (who is sitting at home getting paid by us)

I'm tired of all the ques that I have to go trough at all goverment institutions...
We all are - recall the working party that was setup to address the sorry state of Home Affairs - that was about two or three years ago and there's absolutely no improvement
I'm sick with lack of accountability by the goverment officials...
And they deserve criticism for this

I'm sick with redtapes of business finance

But despite all this, I have high hopes for the future of South Africa...
Hope is a good thing, but you still have to be realistic......... why don't you set benchmarks and allow a fair time, say two years, for some signs of improvement, and after that you've got to make a realistic assessment, and some of us have done just that and based on this come to the obvious conclusion that the government is not committed to the changes that you would like to see

Have a grossly inadequate corrupt government and you can expect that volume of criticism

NB!
I hate the usage of white and black to describe human beings, I don't feel comfortable using either words, and I apologise for any grivience that I might have caused
And you are out of line using it here - all South African's should be joining hands and demanding that this government cast out the corrupt ones and start delivering

South Africa belongs to all who leave (live) in it, and I believe that one day we will coexist happily and discard the skin colur classification.
Not until the current racist government change their ways.

Fine.
South Africa will, for a VERY long time, have lines drawn on ethnicity and race...

I can see you don't complain much, BEE/AA does benefit you....

I have not benefited from BEE, I wish I could, there are just a lot of redtapes there as well.

AA, whats wrong with it? Its a good idea? One on one, blacks cannot compete with whites:rolleyes:, we will just lose, atleast for now...

I have a lot to complain about.... Since I work abroad, I **** scared about going back to work, after these senseless xenophobic attacks

I'm not racist!

I love Negroes!! Although I'm partial to caucasians...

Don't get me wrong, Halle Berry is HOT!, Still me likey Jessica Alba more...

:D

If 80% of people understand Afrikaans why bother with anything but English.
Move to another province and boom, no more said Twana.
If the government fscks up and everyone else can see they are idiots, why not point it out to them to later tell them "see told you". Else whites will get the blame for not helping with expertise lacking in the government.

Um, not when those being employed are there just for their skin colour...

Are you Xhosa, Zulu, Ndebele, Sotho ? Or Zimbabwean, Botswanan?

Xenophobic attacks were mostly (if not all) amongst the uneducated, unemployed bunch...

Still, you have far less to complain about than others....

Nothing is 'wrong' with whites. They just happen to be the best educated race in the country and can spot "Bull****" from a mile away. They do not get as easily brainwashed as the masses who support Zuma. And why stay in a country where you are treated as a second-class citizen? The world is your oyster...go to a place where your skills will be appreciated.

Are you a foreigner?

If so, why should you benefit from AA?

Harsh topic, but not that harsh, more pricesly it should have neen (mean)Whats wrong with South Africans???

Well why didn't you just say "Whats wrong with South Africans???" ?
I guess that the answer is because you're a racist that wants to use the race card as an excuse for your failures.

One sure way for us to assess you is if you'd answer this question:
Do you support Jacob Zuma?

Every man is innocent till proven guilty. What problem? We are the problem...
What the hell!
What problem???? - This problem

Now if you honestly regret your inappropriate racist comments and title why not send a PM to the MOD's to edit it out, or they may just be looking at deleting it.

Do you support Jacob Zuma?

PS. I have a hunch that you are trolling because I find it hard to believe that you are being serious with some of you absurd comments.

If you think there is zero change in Home Affairs you are greatly lacing in experience of getting a ID book now compared to 5 years ago.

Yes, there is a whole lot that still can be improved and needs urgent attention, but it has greatly improved from the dregs of few years ago.

what you're most likely seeing here is a product of the falling standard of education: Standard of Education? We are all coming to the same point, Blacks see a rise in Standard of Education, OBE is much better than the Bantu system. White education was well financed back then, thats why in the new South Africa, the standard appears to be falling

Every man is innocent till proven guilty. What problem? We are the problem... We must not wait for the goverment to takle crime, but we must instead start with ourselves. Brother rapes mother, father rapes daughter, father kills self and family, uncle rapes child, neighbour kills neighbour.... We need to tackle crime ourselves, these issues need our intervention. Example you have as many people dying on our roads as those being murdered, yet one feels its ok to drive under influence of alcohol, or attend a phonecall or exceed speed-limit, parents completely disregard kids, by smoking in same room...

Three years is unrealistics, I still have high hopes, every goverment will continue to have problems

I cannot wait for the day when I have my first car and house

In my books the good out-does the corruptness... What happened to goverment appreciation? There is a saying that Nothing satisfy man.

I grew up without electricity, now I do, no running water, now I do, no tar road, now I do. My parents learned up to Standard 5, I have a bachelors degree. When you stay in Sandton, there is hardly any improvements that you might see, whereas growing up in an impoverished village, there is a lot that you can see, i.e. public transport, chemical lab, computer lab, better sport facilities, water, new clinic, increased police capacity, RDP houses, better roads, Electricy, telephony services and social services

NB!

I apologised for using the terms, it was only intended for reference only

South Africa belongs to all who leave (live)(Thanks for necessary input), in it, and I believe that one day we will coexist happily and discard the skin colur classification.

THank you for your reply...

Yeah, we had many decades of BS to educate us, we are trying to do the skills transfer as required but we kept being called racists because of it :(

I can guarantee you that 90% of whites born in this country speak a native language (to some degree), at least half as a first language. Where is the problem?

A lot of whites do not know much about South African politics.

Eh? A lot of whites know too much about South African politics, that's where this animosity stems from. We know what it should be like, in theory; and we know, all too well, what it actually is like. Hence, the criticism.

I think PW Botha will disagree with that, and also Vervoerd
And why stay in a country where you are treated as a second-class citizen?
Blacks were not even regarded as citizens, just tools... Botha compared us(Blacks) to lizards, some still mistake blacks for monkeys...
