SA govt is incompetent and corrupt. Any government this corrupt or incompetent gets laughed at abroad and then removed from power by democratic means. In SA there is no way of that since there is an effective MONOPOLY on political power despite a plural multiparty system existing as virtually all blacks will vote for the ANC no matter what. It's the same as Telkom, Eskom, Vodacom, etc - all monopolies and all able to abuse their position. People are unhappy about that. Blacks maybe are not as unhappy because the ANC is their party (previous opposition to apartheid governments) however (most) whites don't have those ties to
the ANC and cannot overlook their mismanagement.

I'm puzzled about white South Africans, more especially the younger generations(1980~~), they seem to be out of touch with South Africa, they are quick to critisize the Goverment and all its initiatives. and hardly defend South Africa.

I'm sick of crime, more needs to be done.

I'm tired of all the ques that I have to go trough at all goverment institutions...

I'm sick with lack of accountability by the goverment officials...

BACK TO THE TOPIC...
A lot of whites do not know much about South African politics. I have two white friends whom emigrated from Ireland and England in 1994 to reside in South Africa, and their knowledge of South African politics is above average, it even lead to me questioning my patriotism. I was having a chat with one of them and my white collegue, and we soon drifted to politics and you can see that collegue was lost and uncomfortable...Whats up with that???

Both of my friends can make up sentences in native South Africa lunguages, and only have 14 years in the country, whereas white South Africans have been in the country for generations, yet the majority cannot speak native lunguages....Whats up with that???

Take note fo all the goverment related threats in this forum...Whats up with all the negativity???

I hate the usage of white and black to describe human beings, I don't feel comfortable using either words, and I apologise for any grivience that I might have caused

South Africa belongs to all who leave in it, and I believe that one day we will coexist happily and discard the skin colur classification.

That should NEVER EVER be the case for anyone or anything. How much more good could have been done and achieved if the money went where it was supposed to in the first place?

You put whites on the defensive, saying there is something wrong with them, but the worst you can come up with for how terrible they are is a few ridiculously broad generalisations that they are (in your view) ignorant of politics and don't know African languages. Wow. That is so terrible. If that's about the worst that "whites" are doing wrong, then there is nothing to defend, since as far as I know neither of these things actually harm anyone, nor are against the law. While these make a person a better person, nobody is compelled (morally or otherwise) to learn a language or understand politics. In fact you can only compel slaves to carry out activities against their desires, and we don't have slavery anymore, sorry, so whites aren't compelled to behave the way you want them to, they are only compelled to mutually respect your rights, and that's all. If you want to say there is "something wrong" with whites, wake me up when they are doing actual bad things like, say, carrying out thousands of armed home invasions and carjackings or something like that.

I'm also questioning your generalisations, given I'm white and know some Northern Sotho, Zulu and some Swahili in addition to Afrikaans and Engish, and I'm fairly clued up on politics too, local and global. Many of my white friends are clued up on politics and I can think of quite a few friends and colleagues who can speak some African language, some even fluently.

The only thing wrong with whites is that they readily mentally entertain preposterous criticisms that there is something wrong with whites.
