WhatsApp alternative Telegram blocks ISIS channels

Wonder if this will be used for denying telegram services to innocent people, just because you don't like them?

(same thing as is happening on facebook, you report somebody and their whole account is suspended, which is a major PITA to get unlocked)

I see it as a good thing.

I do find it strange that they are using public channels though.

From the article, the public channels sounds more like it was a "Terrorism for dummies" type of thing. So they most likely did not actually talk about any detailed plans, but rather tutorials on how whoever is in the channel can do these sort of things on their own time.

Indeed. Still good that it was removed.

Or you report blatant explicit porn, and they say they could find nothing that violates the terms. :wtf:

I don't think its end to end encryption.
They claim it does, but user is not aware how the message will be delivered. It means that if you have secret information, passing it by Whatsapp would be insane. However Whatsapp is doing good job because increasing number of encrypted messages gives you better separation from spies.
