WhatsApp Backup Issue

I can't seem to backup my WhatsApp.It either gets stuck on preparing back up or it gets stuck at 50%.
I have tried many solutions found online such as clearing cache, unlinking and linking Google to WhatsApp many times, used a different Google account, used mobile data and different WiFi networks, deleted old backups, restarted my phone, turned video backup off, deleted chats which I did not need.

I have been trying since yesterday since I am getting a new phone today and need to transfer my WhatsApp chats.
Please help

How big is your media store?
File System> Android > Media > com.whatsapp > Media > Whatsapp > Media folder

I recently cleared out my media folders via the file manager and halved my inages folder from 24 000 images to 11 000 which made a massive speed difference backups wise.

What you can also do is plug a flash disk i to your phone using an OTG cable, copy the entire MEDIA folder as above. Then delete all media and do your backup taking messages to Google Drive only.

Once you restore from Drive on the new phone, plug the flash disk in and copy all the media onto the new phone. Then do a full backup to Google Drive

Same here. I don't have much to backup really so don't get it. Fibre speed is close to 50Mbps so that is not a problem either. I have enough space in gmail account.

Holy hell, I thought I was quick with 3 x 1Gb fiber lines... kudos to you.
 
Mine did the same
Stuck on 95%
Just leave it
It will eventually go through
Took me an hour

When it gets stuck just leave it, mine took an hour to go from 95% to 100%
