WhatsApp blue tick read receipt launched

I use whatsapp but I give a damn if I don't reply to anyone, if they were important they'd be my BBM.

Yup. My boss can be damn irritating
 
I really like the feature.
I'll often be somewhere and need to ask or tell my wife something urgent without a voice call.

e.g.
"Honey, I'm in an emergency three hour meeting and I'll only be home at 19:00"
Previously with a grey double tick I'd only know it reached her phone but she may have left her phone somewhere.
When I get home she's very annoyed that I didn't let her know.
With the blue "message read" ticks at least I know she's glanced at the message and if she hasn't then I know that I need to phone her to get her attention.

There's an ignore list available for people like that...

The SO is the one being immature and starting the fight. Why tie yourself to someone like that in the first place, if they don't have the mental capacity to understand that sometimes you either can't, or simply don't want to, reply to a message right away?

Problem is that you can read the message without opening the damn thing. So it still shows as unread. Stupid.
