WhatsApp calling a hit on Cell C

lol, I thought whatsapp voice calling had no impact on voice traffic

Intriguing...

I use it occasionally, but only when I'm on wifi.

I use it as often as I can. It don't use as much data as I taught. Had a 20 min convo and it was only a few megs and call quality was fair.

I am one of the people that usually say cellc is good but when it comes to WhatsApp I Tried it twice on CellC. It was horrible and I have not tried again.

Am I the only one worried that they know how much people use WhatsApp voice calling?

I have two questions about this whatsapp voic calling, which I wondered how it works and how much it costs.

Q1.
I tried to use this functionality and not happy with it dropping and calls and have bad connection, is it clear and with a continuous connection which doesn't break?

Q2.
Is this function really free free or it needs data bundles to work and if so how expensive is it?

It does use your data if using your mobile network and the quality is good, depending on the data connection you are using. I have used it a few times to call my friend in the UK. He had a bit of a echo on his side and there was a definate slight delay, but definitely usable.

Q1. I use it on home WIFI mostly and the other party also has a WIFI connection. I talk for about half an hour at a time and most times with no problems. I also used it a few time on 3G and found that as long as you have a good signal you good to go.

Q2. You need data. It did not use that much data that last time I used it on 3G
