Not yet .. the app is out but calling still needs to be activated , from what I have read they will activate certain areas over the next couple of weeks.

Doesn't the call-trick work, as it did on Android? i.e. someone with voice calling enabled, calls someone without voice calling, which should then activate voice calling when that person answers...

The share extension is bigger news in my opinion. The voice calling roll out will probably take a few weeks. Just waiting to share google maps locations. Also can't the fix the issue where you copy the Maps location to work correctly to other non iOS users.

Nope, a friend tried from his Android phone to call me, it told him that I needed to have a newer version of the software, which I do have, so seems we'll just need to wait for something to be activated.

Not really interested in this. Skype works just fine.
More interested in WhatsApp web. I don't want to jailbreak, also JB is not available for 8.3.

I have UK and US accounts, but that's immaterial as its the same version as per Bwanas image above (2.12.1).

I updatedthe app on Tuesday and tried to ring it from my android phone a few times which failed, yesterday morning the iPhone began to receive the incoming calls, and then after making 2 or 3 inbound calls the iPhone app suddenly had the phone icon and started allowing outgoing calls.

My WhatsApp had the phone icon displayed today, tested and was able to call a colleague on his iPhone using WhatsApp voice.
Oh ... call failed the 1st time I tried to phone him as his WhatsApp didn't have access to his mic, so once he allowed that all was good

Someone tried to call me from Android phone and received this message:
"XXX is unable to receive whatsapp call"

The latest Whatsapp version (2.12.2), iphone 4 ios6.x
iOS related, maybe?

How do you answer a whatsapp call directly from a locked iPhone like a conventional call?

When receiving a whatsapp call, I first have to unlock the phone then the call gets dropped... very frustrating.

I get a "slide to answer" option on screen, I slide the notification to the right, it then asks for fingerprint and answers the call.

I tried making a few what's app calls a while ago and the sound quality was atrocious. This was on a 10mbps line
