I'm looking for a thirdparty app or even a hybrid version of whatsapp (if that exists :wtf That will let me auto-count messages in a group chat based on a certain criteria.

For the sake of example lets say everyone in the group is voting for what to make for dinner using the green tick as a vote for T - Pasta

I want it to be able to count up all those ticks and the corresponding food item, and then generate a simple message with the totals. (So i don't have to scroll through all the messages manually).

Does anyone know of anything that does this?

OR

Any mobile IM that could be used to do this more easily?

Because it must be on Whatsapp or some random IM on Android... and of course everyone will use it because well its cool.

The pure concept of an App is that it lives inside it's own sandbox. Ie that what data it generates and uses is primarily for its own use. No other app can access it.

Whatsapp has a search function. Your best bet would be to get a pen and paper, and search for the terms that you're looking for, then write down how many times it's been mentioned.

Or use a poll as mentioned above.

Old Thread But in case anyone stumbles here like i did heres a solution .
It will give you most of not all the statistics you might need from Whatsapp.
*NB it requires root access so your device better be rooted else it wont work
