Whatsapp on iPad

I will fire up the nexus tonight then and see how it works.

Guy at work has Galaxy Tab 10.1 (not rooted) and play store says unsupported for him.

As will I - if I can find the thing.

Straight from Play Store. Did nothing special. Had to register the MTN sim number on WhatsApp servers and that was it. Uses it all the time.

You can use ifunbox instead of iPhone Conf Utilities

1.) Jailbreak iPad
2.) Install Whatpad on iPad available off Cydia
3.) Download Whatsapp app on pc/iTunes
4.) Install iPhone configuration utility on pc
5.) Connect iPad to pc, run iPhone utility, choose install Whatsapp
6.) Launch Whatsapp on iPad and use mobile number of your choice to authenticate.

You will have issues the next time you try sync your iPad. It will remove Whatsapp. Just reinstall using the iPhone configuration utility or alternatively don't sync.

I did this on iOS 7.0.4 using ifunbox at step 4. I can sync my iPad without a problem. To authenticate my SIM card, after registering I took my SIM card and inserted it into my phone, got the activation code, then reinserted it into the ipad and continued. Alternatively you can activate using wifi and your SIM card can be inside the phone. Unless of course you have a spare number you can use.
