WhatsApp rolling out high quality image sending

You can already attach the actual photo file for full quality (perhaps better than their HD quality (4,096 x 2,692) option.

It looks like they caught on to that loophole and are now also compressing images sent as file attachments.

Tried to send a screenshot yesterday that way and although the result was better than just adding a photo the regular way, it too was clearly compressed.
 
Attach as document? Sends the file that you can't see in WA- has to be opened in an app. No compression as far as I can see?

Either way, better photo quality is better.

We need bigger file transfer limits too. Multi part zipped files :sneaky:
 
They've been promising this for ages. This morning, I had to receive over 100 "documents/files" and then move them to my gallery because of their kak image compression.
They need to stop reporting on it and actually release it now :X3:
