WhatsApp update lets you queue messages without a data connection

This has always been a thing on Android hasn't it?
You send a message and they just sit there without a sent tick until a connection gets established.

Downloaded the latest December 2016 version of Whatsapp for iOS6 (120+MBytes). Apparently this version was released for a sole purpose, see below.

When launched it pops up with a message "This version of Whatsapp has expired. Go to the App store and download the latest version". App store offers for downloading (again) the same version! Thank you Whatsapp! Thank you for screwing me up very, very much...

try Telegram.

Ah, yes, I remember when I used an iPhone 4 for a month. This has something to do with iOS. One could also not see both ticks unless the message has actually been opened, or something like that.

Not iOS, it is poor programming. By example, Whatsapp has never activated voice calls on my iPhone 4 running iOS6. When someone Whatscalled me, received message "Your blablabla do not support voice calling"

There are ticks or doubleticks (which our news editor seem to be excited) and also dirty tricks I wrote about. Now I have number of chats I am unable to access as Whatsapp says "This version of Whatsapp has expired".

So you're using WhatsApp on an iPhone4 running iOS 6 and you have chats you cannot access?

And what are these Dirty Tricks?

Oh my gosh. How revolutionary. This is going to change everything.

Well, on an iPhone 4, I remember not being able to send a message when there is no network connection. The SEND button was not clickable. This was in 2013, so was probably an old version of WhatsApp. Never ever had this on Android.

Correct. In Decempber there was a new version of Whatsapp for iOS6. If you upgraded to this version (I ddid it in January), it does nothing, it just displays a message (retyping exactly from the screen):
Code:
This version of WhatsApp ha...

Update WhatsApp

Your update will be free of cha...
Note of truncated characters. Click on the update button, it brings to the December version (iOS6 supported). Download and install the app (120MB+). When you start, the same message appears.

Before updating to the new version Whatsapp was working sans Whatscalling - this feature never was activated on my phone.

Still had this on my 6s.
Actually it was useful so I knew the network was acting up on my side and not WhatsApp.
