WhatsApp voice calling hands-on tested

If anyone had sent me a pm and I didn't call, I apologise. Got a bit overloaded an lost track of all the calls

Mine is quite bad, had a few missed calls from MickyD and Imran while the phone was on me the whole time but only rang twice. The call with MickyD was also very laggy. I was on wifi at the time.

The call is as good as your connection. Wifi would add extra delay?
 
By the way...the updated whatsapp is not available in Al countries for some reason

Don't know, i was on wifi the whole time (afraid of being charged some crazy rate) some calls were perfect, some were quite laggy like an international telkom call. Will need more testing.

PS. i was on a 1mb afrihost business line with no others users on at the time.

Well, for now my Vodacom airtime didn't budge a cent.
I have a feeling this is gonna get pretty massive, for instance I'm gonna connect my whole family with it.

In case it hasn't been mentioned yet, less than a meg a minute.
 
Anyone who is willing to activate my Whatsapp calling?

I've PM'd a couple of posters, and received a call from one forumite last night, but it failed to activate the feature. I already have version 2.11.561 installed.

To unlock WhatsApp voice calling you have to install a new version of the app that is not currently available on Google Play.

BS, mybroadband is being misleading again - trying to get everyone to to install malware, watch out!

My official whatsapp is working with voice calls, no need to install any 3rd party - malware infested - worm crawling app.

PM me if you need yours activated too!

Yeah it'll be pretty big, for now i'll stick with wifi, cellc data isn't all that stable anyway. would love Vodacom data but i consume a bucket load data and they aren't the cheapest.. anyhow we should all monitor our airtime/bill its all fun until they start charging those extremely high rate previously mentioned a while back.

Its the same apk file that you can find on the play store

Well it wasn't available on the Play Store when the article came out.
