Not interested, WhatsApp still works 100%, no need for yet another IM.

EDIT: Anyway, 44 on Telegram, 242 on WhatsApp, so no, not going to work for me.

So those 44 people you chat frequently with?

looks a bit older though, no background on the chat, e.g. my right pane:

(Showing atomic as that's the only non-private chat I have right now. This is a group where you can only get network notifications, and no one on the group can see who the other people are)

Then there's also the hashtag indexing, which is useful in groups or if person to person so I can find something quickly again.

And then of course you can shrink it:

Well, one of the most annoying features on Telegram is that it says "x has joined Telegram", I get that near every second day now, most of those people are just in my contact list from some whatsapp groups.

Go to settings --> notifications and sounds --> events
Then disable "contact joined Telegram"

I know, the problem is that I am waiting for a certain person to join, wish I could selectively enable it.

Sorry, I never use desktop chat. That is not a useful feature to me.

WhatsApp still my IM of choice.

EDIT: I also dislike groups with more than 4 participants, and any sort of broadcast.
