me November 2004 .. 512 kbps

It was bliss... but now stuck on 4mbps for over 10 years

August 2002, first person North of the Umgeni River to have ADSL also upgraded from 128k ISDN.
512k business package, and it was heaven.
Had 80 - 120 ping to UT99 servers in Germany, France and UK.
Today I have 4 mbits (10 available) but have 220 ping to these servers and browsing in comparison sucks.

about a month as i was using LTE not i used my capped data on my adsl as well as LTE router a new new promotion from Telkom :) killer..basically what i have is 100GB that can be used either on the adsl or the LTE best part is FREE link to LTE speed...:) ha ha ha...

I don't have adsl ( never had it)
I might consider getting it next year.
So my answer might be 2016.

2005 - started with ADSL 384k which was a nightmare, cancelled the same year
2009 - moved to ADSL 2Mbps which was then upgraded to 4Mbps (could only get 3Mbps)
2014 - moved to new area, have 10Mb (syncing at 12.5) and am pretty happy with Afrihost as ISP.

Lucky..

Guess most of us that joined myADSL back in the days was the reason to complain about the 3gig cap

Reflecting on it now, I don't know how we survived with 384Kbps, I would lose my mind with that bitrate now...

Back then everything on the web was smaller so the ratios weren't that far off. I managed fine in the days of 128kbps ISDN cause everything was geared for it.

2004/2005 cant remember, when the 192k line was out.... scary to think that I thought that was fast. and online gaming was a bliss

Upgraded from ISDN 64kbps to 192kbps ADSL, then 384kbps etc. till 2009, when Telkom lost copper to theft, was slow replacing - 2011 applied for ADSL service - no infrastructure, stayed on 3G for another 3 years, applied again, was given the exact same telephone number that I had in 2009, my 2 years is about to expire month end ...

Now on 2mbps ADSL - after last outage my profile was updated - now doing 250kbps down Internet Download Manager showing d/l speeds ...

Miss the speed of 3G/LTE tho

ADSL from 2004 (??? kbps) - 2015 ( 4 mbps)
2015 ADSL RIP
