Thats how I drive :)

My Impreza's so damn sluggish that I often have to shift a lot higher than I'd like at like 4-5k rpm.

when the car is cold, I shift at under 3000rpm...until it gets warm...this is Alfa style...the unspoken users manual!

When I'm not in a hurry itz usually 3-3500rpm through all gears, I cruise in 5th. I'd love to have a 6th gear as I believe that's the best cruise gear ever!

When driving like a maniac I get the revs to 5-6000rpm coz after that things will happen, lol just kidding, and on my race days before I replaced the clutch I would take it to where I would feel the car lose power...about 6500rpm...but like many underpowered cars (118kw on crank isn't powerfull - there I admit it) you get that feeling that after 5500rpm the car just makes a noise and you don't get that forward push or something...I felt this when I drove one friends G5 GTi...after 5500rpm her car did not have that kick as it did from 1500rpm...joh (the G5 GTI drives very good - a drivers car out and out) but ja, since I replaced the clutch I took it to 6500rpm once, dumped the clutch once at the toll gate and saw smoke pouring into the cabin...that was at 6500rpm...doubt I'll ever go there AGAIN! Coz I started hearing strange noises!

I forgot to mention about the temperature, not wise to redline the car when it's still cold. It's like in the winter where you stick your foot into a warm bath, it burns like hell!! Now imagine redlining the car when it's cold, it must get hurt somehow

Normally I'd change to a higher gear at around 6-7k RPM, but when I'm going fast it's somewhere around 12-14k RPM.

In town, between 2250 and 3000 RPM from 1st to 3rd, then to 5th at 60 km/h.
On the highway, generally around 3000 to 3500.
When I'm really in a hurry - 5000 RPM. No sense in pushing harder... absolutely no power above that.

Of course this only applies once the engine has warmed up. Cold engine gets the same treatment as town driving.

I change to second at around 110 km/h or so. Depending on the road ofc

Depends on the camshaft where your power lies.

Custom cams like 276 degree for example will have more power in the higher revs than lower.

I prefer having power in the lower revs. Torque ftw!

If you wanna feel guilt about shifting and rev's... try riding a kawasaki ZXR 250

Redline at around 21 000 rpm
