my balance is 0.00 MB and a new line poped up saying free data is 2048 MB, surely the 2048 MB should be my balance?

or am i missing something?

No, technically your 'balance' is R0.00 (not MB) because you have no actual airtime on your data SIM.

It ends up that you score a bit, if u signed up after the 15th of the month - u get ur full 2gb or 5gb allocation to use by month end.
After that your 12 months only starts counting - so no need to stress about the "lost" data.

So I bought my Cellc modem on the 6th of April, but Cellc told me that my monthly data will expire on the end of the month. Now will it be the 6th of May, or the 30th of April? If you know what I mean. The reason for asking is that I still have some data left and I want to use it before it expires, but yet I don't want to use it before the 30th of April because I'm afraid I will only be recharged on the 6th of May. Yet I don't want to wait till the 6th because it might expire on the 30th.
Any help is appreciated.

@Beast - your cap will expire on the 30th.

Can anyone confirm whether it is a hardcap - ie, what happens if I go over the cap? Do I get cut off, or charged at OOB rates?

On pre-paid just gets hard caped, if you have airtime preloaded on it, it just starts eating the airtime.

On pre-paid it is a hard cap, i.e. you cannot do anything except visit www.cellc.co.za until you load airtime, and on contract you will be charged out of bundle rates, but according to you it is possible to hard cap a contract as well.

Hi All

On contract , after you pass your cap you will be charge standard rates which will be billed at end of month
as for pre-paid one finished it will DC, then you have option of topping it up

Thanks Cell_C. Is it possible to arrange for a hard cap on contract?

If you using a single sim with a single cap its not a problem to hardcap yourself. If you use it on a pc you can always use programs like http://www.hageltech.com/dumeter/about and on a phone like Android use something like https://market.android.com/details?id=com.jupiterapps.phoneusage

If you Google you should find free alternatives I am just pointing to the ones I use, both can be set to cap you on self managed limits.
