When should i start to worry about how much im using on an mweb uncapped 4mbs - I noticed i did like 10GB on my first day, i doubt that this will continue because i dont really have more to download but i just want to know when people will get a call for abuse?

300GB?
200GB?
100GB?

TBH I don't bother tracking my data usage but I know its relatively high. For example pretty sure on the weeked did in excess of 20Gigs ( LF4D2 and TF2 ftw :p ) but that was over a stint and not 24/7 all the time which is more what they're concerned about. Consistent, high speed downloading and shaping bypass appear to be the triggers.

Don't stress, just don't spend 27/7 downloading and don't bypass mweb's shaping and you will be fine.
 
whats considered bypassing ?
we are using a few socks proxies here for international gaming to help with latency...
but i don't wanna raise any red flags
 
Im pretty sure the proxies are using very little bandwidth so don't stress. The only people who were fired were those who used services like AeroVPS and downstorm and spent 24/7 downloading at full speed.

I had no trouble with gaming, but could you please explaing this to me?

I thought going through a proxy would only increase latency?

One of the proxies I am using, is in France, more or less where SEACOM terminates, and where Twilight Hammer, EU WOW realm is, it works out cheaper than to buy prepaid unshaped the whole time, and i get to raid in 25man's with only 230ms latency.

down from 500-600ms latency, in game, not ping tests, ping tests are all low below 300

I'm also not sure how this can help as any proxy you would be using locally there, your traffic still has to get from here to there which is where the majority of your latency cost is.

My EU pings range from 190-300ms depending on servers.
 
hi still haven't been answered........

how much can i download on a 384 line before i can get kicked off mweb??? 80 gigs??? 90gigs???
 
I doubt it!! i would say much more than that...
with my 4mbs account i did more than that in 2 1/2 days!!

I think you could easily do 80 if not 100GB


EDIT: you may not be able to do that much in a month with that line, but i dont tihnk they will kick you...

We did the sums earlier this year and also had some guys post their stats. 70-75 was the max. In theory you could get around 103gb, but that will NEVER happen.

Thanks for stats. Interesting... May/June - was that almost 24/7?

Did you gradually reduce your DL's or was the downward trend due to throttling?

im on a 4Meg uncapped and i do +-430 gigs a month... thats pretty much constant torrent Dls
 
Can I use my 4Mb account in more than once location? Ie I have it at my office, but I want to use that account at home a/h. Is this allowed or is the account tied to a phone number?

The ISP account can be used on any ADSL line. The physical line speed is the factor. Do you have a 4mbps line at home as well?
