Where are the single men?

With regards to online dating mentioned by others, one thing I observed is that how many people use it for years with no luck.

I tried my hand at Datingbuzz towards the end of 2014 and early 2015 with no luck, but that is probably down to me. Anyway, I stopped actively using it and became a bit of a lurker, logging in every now and then out of curiosity and this has persisted until today. What I noticed is that there was a significant amount of women that I remember from my initial escapades that are still active, evidently still searching. Datingbuzz lets you look at 5 pages of potential matches if you are not a premium member and I recognised at least half of them from over a year ago. The one woman I distinctly remember messaging in 2014/15 before it fizzled out and there she was again, listed as a 97% match.

Exactly - unless they are also just hanging around.

Need new people darn it. New people.

suddenly very sad I missed this thread. and it is WAY too long to read up now.

has skeptic_sa posted the obligatory how you doing gif yet?

but I also want to make things like tables etc
You going to be making one-off things yourself or would you like to get a small production going for bespoke items?

Me, Car_B_Om and Nefertiti can be vouched for :D We've been to social things, unlike some other people too afraid to show their faces ;)

I cannot be vouched for.... my oh my... what to do? *pushes out boobs

Papaya101,

2 years ago I was in a similar spot and someone recommended Tinder. Guess I was damn lucky.

At least you are getting out there and doing something, rather than waiting around for it to happen magically by itself ;)

My small message of encouragement.

Interesting thread, good job Papaya.

Online dating is amusing mostly, I have met a lot of people online (as in physically met with), but I like meeting new people so thats just me. Best approach I have found is just to meet interesting people on the basis of getting to know people.

Perhaps they can be friends, perhaps there's a romantic element, but any romance would be based on friendship anyway (unless you're just trying to get laid) so it's always nice meeting new people. I still speak with many of the people I met online, even though there ended up being no romantic interest, or no "sparks" when we met.

Meeting people when you get to our age (thirties) is a little more difficult as people have their established friend groups and joining that can, doesn't have to be, but can be tricky at times.

Papaya, take a road trip to Joburg and we can arrange a MyBB meetup and then you'll have a bunch of new friends :D

come now. definately meet in JHB. then she can meet Skeptic, me and FAnie.
as well as all the other fun people that go to the JHB meets.

can the CPT people claim to have a furry at the meets?
(is that a good or a bad thing?)

You spelt Pretoria wrong there but its okay, I got your meaning.
